Summary of Responsibilities

The Line Cook's duties will consist of assisting the Sous Chef and Executive Chef with daily tasks. They will aid in the preparation and service of ala carte lunches and dinners; as well as the execution of banquet functions.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare food in accordance to Club receipts
  • Maintain a cleanly work area
  • Assist with preparation of soups, seafood, meats, sauces, etc.
  • Assist in creation of daily specials
  • Stay current on OSHA regulations and chemical handling procedures
  • Ensure proper storage of leftover products for future use
  • Maintain professional appearance and proper cleanliness standards
  • Assist in creation of daily specials and menus
  • Advise Executive and Sous Chef in the event of food and/or equipment shortages
  • Assist in preparation of food for all staff
  • Remain current on HACCP regulations and procedures

Required Education/Experience:

Culinary Arts degree and/or 2 years experience

Required Qualifications and / or certifications:

  • Must be a citizen of the USA or possess a valid work permit
  • Must have own transportation

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Conditions in the kitchen are sometimes hot, cold and humid
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Be on feet for extended periods of time
  • Utilization of both hands

Safety Hazards:

  • Sharp knives
  • Band saw
  • Mixing machines and other food preparation equipment
  • Chemicals
